Girls Explore IT Careers [us]
Build IT is an afterschool and summer program for underserved middle school girls that capitalizes on its participants interest in design and communication technologies by engaging them in hands-on, collaborative, real-world experiences. This project, a collaboration between SRI International and Girls Inc of Alameda County (GAIC). This Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) project is funded by the National Science Foundation and supported by the Learning Resource Center at EDC.

I commend the Minister of Education for her initiative to undertake a pilot single-sex school project. Although several people have voiced opinions, very few referred to research findings on this issue. I would like to show how education research supports single-sex secondary schools.

A pilot study on the merits of all girls and all boys secondary schools is to be conducted at 20 government schools which currently have a mixed student population.
Sources told Newsday most of the 20 schools were those which were previously junior secondary and senior comprehensive schools but have since been changed to five and seven-year schools. EASSE lanzará en septiembre un curso a distancia de ED, con 20 horas en la modalidad online.
El curso tiene 8 horas presenciales. Está previsto atender 150 peticiones.
La parte online del curso, está distribuída en cuatro áreas: antropológica, sociológica, neurofísica y pedagógica. Esta parte del curso trata de presentar los fundamentos de la diferenciación escolar, a través de un proceso interactivo, que permite acceder a documentos muy variados: videos, textos, estudios e informes, etc.
