Chapter 8: Students’ Reading Attitudes, Self-Concept, and Out-of-School Activities. 

Literacy activities at home and in school encourage and reinforce students’ positive reading attitudes. The reading curriculum in most countries emphasizes students’ positive attitudes toward reading as a major objective. Students who enjoy reading usually read more frequently, tus broadening their knowledge of text situations, expanding their literary experiences, and improving their comprehension skills.
