Differences between boys and girls in the academic results of 4th ESO

The Superior Council for the Evaluation of the Educational System publishes a study every year in which data are analyzed that allow the system to be monitored and improvement measures introduced. In April 2022, the report "Variables that influence the academic results and language use of 4th grade ESO students. Course 2020-21" was published, which, taking into account the competency tests of 4th of CSE and a subsequent survey, extract some data with reference to certain variables. One of these variables is that of sex, since trends are observed that coincide with the results of other educational systems, where girls obtain better results in the linguistic field while boys do so in the mathematical-technological field.

These data highlight the importance of taking this variable into account in the educational system and the need to implement methodological and organizational measures to reduce these biases.
